Our Journey
Starting as a small backyard operation in Oakleigh, Melbourne, AGE's journey is one of continuous growth and adaptation:
1976: Founded in Oakleigh, Victoria
1984: Expanded to a 300 square metre facility in Bentleigh East
1989: Relocated to a 1,000 square metre building in Moorabbin
2002: Current Managing Director, Con Litsios moves the business to the current location in Mordialloc.
2017: Expansion into South East Asia opining Australian General Engineering Vietnam (AGEVN) with a building size of 1,500 square meters
Present Day: AGE Melbourne occupies five buildings exceeding Our Melbourne-based ISO 9001 certified facility spans over two adjoining buildings totaling over 4,000m2. Ideally positioned in the southern industrial hub of Melbourne, we have easy access to local and national transportation.

Australian General Engineering (AGE) is a testament to the power of entrepreneurial spirit and dedication. Founded in 1976 by Dimitrios Litsios, a Greek immigrant with a vision, AGE has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading force in the Australian manufacturing sector.
From Blacksmith to Industry Leader
Dimitrios Litsios, a skilled blacksmith, began by crafting truck exhausts, leveraging his expertise as a MIG welder. Recognising the needs of his community, he pivoted to creating gates, security doors, and barbecues for the local Greek population within Melbourne and Adelaide. This versatility and customer-focused approach led to valuable contract work, positioning AGE as a tier one and tier two supplier for renowned companies like Kenworth trucks and other Heavy Vehicle Manufacturers.
